EAW X Grain by Grain collaboration

Flower shaped board and Wooden pounding tool. To use for Hapa-zome.

Handmade by Grain by Grain based in the cotswolds using recycled wood. Due to using wood offcuts each tool-set varys in colours/wood type which we think is beautiful.

How to use the tools?

  1. Collect a scrap of fabric and the leaf or flower you want to use and place the fabric down on your wooden board then place the leaf or flower you want to use face down on the fabric scrap.

  2. Take a sheet of kitchen roll and place it over the leaf/flower, then use the side of your tool to roll over the top of the kitchen roll to flatten the leaf/flower.

  3. Now use the hammer side of the tool (curved end) to hammer over the kitchen roll until colour comes through.

  4. Peel off the kitchen roll to reveal the colour underneath and peel off the excess bits of leaf or flower.
